David Chandler, Ph.D., Director of Corporate Compliance, Amgen
David Chandler is a Director of Corporate Compliance and a UC Davis alum. His responsibilities include business owner of a unified audit management system, analysis of audit and inspection data within and across audit organizations and business units, commercial compliance and reporting on critical issues/findings to executive management including the Board of Directors. Prior to his current position he was the Manager of the Compliance and Regulatory program at 3M Pharmaceuticals where his responsibilities included monitoring and developing compliance programs for cGMP, GCP, GLP, and Commercial, State reporting requirements, and grant and consultant activities. Previous position included Manager of Toxicology at 3M Corporation; Director of the Hazardous Materials Program, Director of Chemical and Risk Information System and Associate Professor Oregon Health Sciences University/Oregon Poison Center, Department of Emergency Medicine, Portland Oregon; Associate Director of Pulmonary Research, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, Al and Chief, Pulmonary Macrophage Research, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Birmingham, Al. David holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and is certified in toxicology (general and clinical), industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, quality auditing and regulatory affairs (US and Europe). Dr. Chandler has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and holds membership in various scientific and professional societies including the Society of Toxicology and the American College of Toxicology
Carol J. Lahti, Ph.D., Manager, Quality Control Microbiology,Genentech, Inc.
Carol J. Lahti is Microbiology Manager in Environmental/Microbiology/Molecular Quality Control at Genentech in Vacaville, CA where she manages microbiology laboratory and testing operations since 2006. Prior to this Dr. Lahti was Environmental Control Program Manager for Bio-Rad’s Clinical Diagnostics Manufacturing in Hercules, CA, where she developed and implemented an environmental quality control program for an existing manufacturing environment and managed the commission and operation of the environmental quality control laboratories. She has held various technical and management positions at Bio-Rad Laboratories managing projects for clinical applications of molecular strain typing of bacteria, and at Los Angeles County Public Health Laboratory where she developed a molecular strain typing laboratory for epidemiological investigations of tuberculosis infections. She received a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from UCLA in 1993 after which she was an ASM American Academy of Microbiology Postdoctoral Fellow in Clinical Microbiology at UCLA.
